Mr Mallapa K Kolar
NCI’s Clinical Lead for Plastic Surgery
Mr Kolar is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery with extensive experience across the NHS and independent sector. He has completed fellowships in leading centres worldwide, focusing on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery with a particular interest in head and neck procedures and facial aesthetics.
Mr Kolar currently serves as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Kliniken Private Practice in Harrogate, and at The Huddersfield Hospital, part of Circle Group. Previously, he was Clinical Lead and Substantive Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust up until June 2025.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mallapa has a strong academic background, holding both an MD and PhD in translational research on stem cell therapies for nerve regeneration. He has published widely, presented internationally, and continues to contribute to teaching and surgical training.
At NCI, Mallapa is the Clinical Lead for Plastic Surgery Services, where he oversees the development and delivery of our plastic surgery pathways. He plays a key role in ensuring clinical excellence, patient safety, and the highest standards of service for our NHS partners.
