Mr Hisham Osman
NCI Clinical Lead for Breast Surgery
Mr Hisham Osman is a Substantive Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
With over three decades of surgical experience, Mr Osman holds dual master’s degrees in surgery and surgical sciences from Cairo University and University College London, alongside fellowships from both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Ireland. He has trained and worked extensively across leading NHS trusts, including The Royal Marsden, Brighton & Sussex, and South Tees, and currently holds a substantive consultant position at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Osman brings advanced surgical expertise in the full spectrum of breast cancer and reconstructive procedures, including skin-sparing mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, implant-based and autologous reconstructions, perforator flap techniques, and corrective symmetry procedures. His experience in complex oncoplastic procedures is matched by a deep commitment to patient safety, cosmetic outcomes, and service excellence.
As NCI’s Clinical Lead for Breast Surgery, Mr Osman provides senior clinical governance, peer review, and operational support to teams mobilised across the UK. He has led on initiatives to enhance surgical efficiency, reduce re-excision rates, and deliver continuity of care within NCI’s breast pathways.
Notably, Mr Osman has been instrumental in shaping NCI’s breast surgery service model, contributing to safe, high-impact elective recovery workstreams. He remains a strong advocate for clinical education and audit, with numerous national and international publications on breast surgery, sentinel node biopsy, and reconstructive outcomes. He is also the local MDT lead and Principal Investigator for the national ATNEC trial at Frimley Park Hospital.
