Trusted processes for elective recovery across the NHS
ENT is a core specialty within the NHS that deals with disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck. It covers a wide range of conditions, from common ear infections and nasal obstruction to complex airway, hearing, and head and neck cancer pathways.
ENT is one of the specialties with some of the highest pressures on NHS waiting lists. Long waits for outpatient assessment and surgery can result in prolonged symptoms, impaired quality of life, and delayed cancer diagnoses. The complexity of ENT also requires close integration across audiology, speech and language therapy, oncology, and paediatrics.
At NCI, we recognise that ENT requires subspecialist expertise, multidisciplinary collaboration, and efficient service delivery models to support Trusts in addressing backlogs safely and effectively.
All services are delivered by Consultant ENT Surgeons with broad NHS experience. Our clinicians cover both adult and paediatric ENT, supported by audiologists, theatre nurses, and outpatient teams.
