Trusted processes for elective recovery across the NHS
Neurology is a specialist field focused on disorders of the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles. It encompasses both acute and chronic conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, stroke follow-up, neuropathies, and headache disorders.
NHS Trusts are under increasing pressure in Neurology, with rising referral volumes, workforce shortages, and growing demand for outpatient clinics and diagnostic investigations such as EEG, EMG, and neuroimaging. Long waits in neurology pathways can delay diagnosis, increase patient anxiety, and worsen outcomes in progressive or life-limiting conditions.
At NCI, we understand that Neurology requires consultant-led services, subspecialist expertise, and close integration with multidisciplinary teams, including neurosurgery, stroke medicine, and neurorehabilitation.
All services are delivered by Consultant Neurologists with broad NHS experience across acute and elective care, supported by specialist nurses and clinical physiologists.
