Gynaecology Services
Trusted processes for elective recovery across the NHS
Trusted processes for elective recovery across the NHS
Gynaecology covers the diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the female reproductive system. It includes a wide range of services, from outpatient assessment and diagnostic procedures to day case and complex inpatient surgery. Common conditions include menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, prolapse, fertility issues, and gynaecological cancers.
NHS Trusts are experiencing significant demand in Gynaecology, with referral volumes consistently rising and waiting lists amongst the most challenged across elective care. Long waits in this specialty can cause chronic pain, reduced quality of life, and in some cases delay the timely diagnosis of malignancy.
At NCI, we recognise that Gynaecology services require consultant-led teams, efficient theatre utilisation, and integration with cancer and elective care pathways to deliver safe and timely outcomes for patients.
All services are delivered by Consultant Gynaecologists with extensive NHS experience, supported by anaesthetists, theatre nurses, outpatient teams, and specialist nurses.
